How much fun did we have the last couple days pulling this yarn bombing project together? Too much for words.
Around 5:30pm on Tuesday, we led a little procession through the streets of Salt Lake City from the shop to the grounds of the City & County Building. We got honks, friendly waves (and maybe one not-so-friendly gesture), and shout outs on our course. Thanks to Tom Kelly for documenting our ride and installment and finished product.
The Salt Lake Tribune also gave us a shout-out today.
We hope everyone will head down to the Utah Arts Festival to check it out, Thursday, June 23, through Sunday, June 26 (noon to 11pm). There will be a knit-in going on nearby as well so bring your knitting and enjoy the ambiance of the Festival.
The reaction from the public for all of the knitting efforts has been fantastic. We heard that there were even some Asian tourists who walked around Library Square taking photos, so this project has already gone beyond the confines of our fair city. We're happy it's been such a unifying and smile-incurring event!
